So, here is the prayer FAQ (click on “more” to read it):

1. Where does this prayer come from?

This is a prayer from the communion rite Roman CatholicMass.It is based on this Bible story (Luke 7:2-12).

2. What does it mean?
In the current English version of the mass, it is translated as “Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.” This is a rather loose translation. Anyone who translated a phrase so loosely in a GCSE Latin exam would not pass. An alternative (and I believe, better) translation is “Lord, I am not worthy
that Thou shouldest enter under my roof: but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.”
3. Why is it on your blog?

I find it extremely relevant to my personal situation, for reasons I explained in my first post here. I also think it’s a beautiful prayer which deserves attention.

4. Why does it say “NON SVM DIGNA” instead of NON SVM DIGNUS on your blog?
I’m female.
5. Did you know that Catholics aren’t real Christians?
