Apparently, feeding the hungry is biased

The BBC has decided not to air an appeal from the DEC asking for help for the suffering people of Gaza. For more on the story, click here.

This is not about apportioning blame for the war. The appeal did not say anything about whether the war was Israel or Hamas’ fault. The appeal simply asked for money to help people in an awful situation. It ios perfectly possible to say “This horrible mess is all Hamas’ fault. If they hadn’t fired the rockets, Israel wouldn’t have had to do this,” and still decide to donate to the appeal. (I would disagree with such an opinion, but that’s beside the point.)

Feeding the hungry is not anti-Semitic. Feeding the hungry is not even anti-Zionist. Feeding the hungry isn’t even saying “I support the state of Israel usually, but this time it has gone to far.” Feeding the hungry is not taking a political stance (except the stance that all human beings have the right to food.)

If you wish to donate to the DEC appeal for Gaza, do so here.

    Amen!

Thank you for your thoughts. More voices need to speak up about this.

    Blessings,
